The Lucky Tooth

When Scrap Happy was probably around 8...she was on a tooth-loosing streak...you know what those look like...Day after day....another tooth fairy visit. And as a Mom, need I say more? Well..at the same time...Scooter lost one too. This was a point in our lives when we were actually really struggling. The tooth fairy was reduced to change and gum.

We live on a cash-only system. So when the cash is gone...well there you go. It was night number 3 of tooth fairy visits. Mama was tired. Mama asked Mister Scrappy to please assist the tooth fairy (as she had already gotten lost once this week).

Flash forward to Scrap Happy waking up with utter squeals of excitement...She runs in and exclaims "the tooth fairy left me $35 dollars!" What? I sent darts through my eyes to Mister.

He smiles and says "It must be your lucky tooth!" (What in the world is he talking about?) Now my darts turn into tazer guns as he seems to be in on this. Isn't he aware that that is like a third of our grocery money for the week...and dude...I am NOT a fan of the boxed Mac N' Cheese.

Scrap Happy gallantly strides off..gloating a little since that is the largest sum of money in the history of the tooth fairy. I begin to hear, my teeth must be cleaner than yours...and then screams from Super...OMG...He created a monster. Mister pulls out his wallet in astonishment....He has two sections in his wallet, one with ones and the other with larger bills...he reached in the wrong side. A 20, a 10, and a 5. He clearly meant 3 ones.Ugghhhh...And now everyone has to have a lucky tooth....

  1. hahahah! I thought I'd only have one child, so I gave him $5 a tooth. I am regretting that now!
